The Future Kings Computer Game Design concentration helps students learn many of the core concepts and principles for creating computer games. The program is a collaborative effort with the Mason Game and Technology Academy of George Mason University. Participants in this program will work with practicing professionals to develop serious games that serve other middle school and high school students.

Students learn to create working game characters that can move and interact with their world. They will bring their characters to life inside a game engine by developing an understanding of interactive lighting, character controllers, animation blending, and more.

Students involved with this program use the “Unity” development suite to develop their games. Unity is a cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies, which is primarily used to develop video games and simulations for computers, consoles, and mobile devices.

The computer game design program includes projects that are designed for students to share, show, and play for their family and friends. Whatever their experience level, motivated students are led and challenged by experienced instructors who encourage participants to discover and explore most creative and inventive ideas.
