STEM for Athletes

“STEM for Athletes” is a Future Kings initiative. The program’s main purpose is to encourage male and female student athletes to pursue educational and training opportunities that will prepare them for future STEM careers. Future Kings is reaching out and offering these opportunities to pre-college student athletes from underserved communities.

Coaches and mentors, who have worked with these elite pre-college athletes, have gained experience that inspired the creation of this program. The primary goal of the “STEM for Athletes” program is to show the athlete that his or her athletic skills are transferable to a STEM career. The Future Kings “STEM for Athletes” program will establish a foundation for future success in a STEM career.

A secondary goal of the Future Kings initiative is to introduce student athletes to many different STEM career paths. These students can choose which career path or paths interest them the most through advanced technological education and training. Student athletes can pursue higher educational STEM opportunities that will prepare them for future high paying STEM employment opportunities in the 21stcentury.

It is the hope and expectation of this Future Kings initiative that these student athletes will be in a better position to utilize the athletic skills that they have developed while participating in the “STEM for Athletes” program.

The goal of this program is that student athletes will transition the skills and knowledge they have gained into post athletic STEM careers. Students will go on to study STEM subjects in college and use this knowledge in future STEM employment positions.
