The custom engineering program of the Future Kings relies on technical support and direction from Prism Engineering. The custom engineering program of Future Kings is designed to prepare participants for engineering opportunities in the advanced manufacturing field. Student get hands-on experience with computer-aided-design software and devices used in computer-aided-manufacturing. Participants start by learning to setup a 3-D printer and then output their designs. Students later learn to accept ideas for products and use CAD software to design that product. This process involves collaboration, mathematics, and more. Students begin by mastering TinkerCAD and later advance to using professional products such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Design outputs are primarily sent to products from the StrataSys and MakerBot family of products. The Future Kings custom engineering program is designed to provide Future Kings with the skills necessary to be eligible for entry level jobs at engineering firms. Another goal is to prepare participants with college level skills so that they can enter college with the skills, experiences and exposures that colleges find attractive.
